Meet our Pin-up Dogs!

Brown Sugar

Sugar is handled by Karen Manton; she's a thinking kelpie who also loves herding. Sugar sustained an injury in a hind leg as a puppy and had a pin inserted but this didn't stop her from being active and enjoying her agility. She's even come back recently from a tear in a cruciate to be healthy, strong and active and to enjoy her agility and herding in moderation.

Buckley

Buckley is handled by Marty Bois. Tall, handsome and blue-eyed, Buckley is the Romeo of the agility scene. But not just a pretty face, this Aussie is talented too with both an AAC (Australian Agility Champion) title and an Australian Jumping Dog title under his belt.

Cooper

Cooper is handled by Sam Bois. He has retired from agility after a great career, made even more special as he had two hip operations due to hip displaysia. Read Cooper's Story here.

Emmy

Emmy is handled by Emma Unsworth. Emmy was rehomed to Emma from a show home. She gained her AAD title in 2005 and also found time to have a litter of nine spotty puppies. Her son Jak is just starting out in the beginners class at WAAG in 2007.

Gunner

Gunner is handled by Jon Fraser. Another story of a dog who agility has helped; Gunner was diagnosed with a heart condition at 2 years of age and Jon made the decision to keep playing agility to help his fitness. Three years later his heart condition is past history and his SAAD title is recent history.

Harli

Harli is handled by Rohan Ally. He hasn't been competing with ADAA for long but is whizzing through the classes. He is also a top performer in ANKC agility where he ranked 2nd in Open Jumping and 3rd in Masters Agility in Australia at the 2007 Nationals. But not just good at agility, Harli is also a TV star in Russia.

Heidi

Heidi is handled by Sharon Fraser. She started agility with WAAG in 2002 and in 2006 made her Mum very happy by gaining her Australian Agility Championship (AAC title). The first dalmatian to acheive such acclaim.

Jahzara

Jahz is handled by Sam Bois. She has just started out in agility in 2007 but has a huge career ahead of her. Her name is African for "Blessed Princess" and she has certainly been blessed with natural athletic ability; she makes agility look effortless. And she is already a media star. BTW, Jahz's favourite colour is red!

Jemma

Jemma was handled by Sam Bois. She went to the rainbow bridge in 2005 but is still looking over all the WAAG dogs keeping them in line and cheering them on. Jemma was one of the foundation members of WAAG and gained her AAC in 2004.

Jonty

Jonty is handled by Tracey Harrison-Hill and on special occasions by Glenn Harrison. A rehomed sheltie that had to overcome a great deal of timidness, he found agility helped him become confident and outgoing. Through agility he found his place in the world (and his voice). He earned his AAC in 2005 and his IAD in 2007.

Lacey

Lacey is handled by Jenny Walkerden. A toy poodle barely larger than a cup with a heart the size of a lion. Lacey proves little dogs can do anything! Despite her tiny legs she has won the Toy dog challenge at the Uralla Grand Prix and earned her MAAD title in 2006 to much ovation.

Lucy-Liu

Lucy-Liu is a kepie handled by Brian Platts. A relative newcomer to WAAG, she has been starring in agility for a while and is a consistently top performer. 2007 has been a great year for Lucy-Liu in ANKC competitions where she had considerable success at the National level. She is currently ranked 3rd in Australia in Masters Jumping.

Maggi

Maggi is handled by Karen Manton. Maggi was rehomed with Karen as a mature dog and didn't start agility training until she was 8. At 14 years of age now, she's enjoying ADAA's regular class with the lower heights. A dog with a fantastic reportoire of tricks, she's a pleasure to watch.

Missy

Missy is handled by Tracey Harrison-Hill. A sheltie with big dog attitude! Missy gained her AAC title in 2003 and has since gone on to achieve multiple MAAD titles, her gambler dog title and her snooker dog title.

Roxy

Roxy is handled by Kellie Jeffries. Roxy is living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks. Roxy started agility training aged 8 and enjoyed it so much that her litter brother TJ also came to join in the fun. Roxy now enjoys ADAA's regular program where she gets lower jump heights but still gets to play all the fun games.

Sonic Boom

Sonic is handled by Nat Kirkwood. He's a favourite of all spectators with his gorgeous flowing coat and huge stride over jumps. A Beardie with lots of bounce who just loves life. He started competing in 2005 and had acheived his AAC title by the end of 2006; what a champion!

Tia

Tia is handled by Janenne Meyer. One of fittest and most athletic staffies that you will see, Tia is a newcomer to agility but is a pleasure to watch flying around courses with such vigour and enthusiasm. Tia's brother Bailey has also recently started training in the foundation class at WAAG so we look forward to him joining Tia in the ring.

Windy

Windy is handled by Marilyn Smith. She retired in 2006 after sustaining an injury. A wonderful whippet who was just hitting her stride and performing consistently when she retired. She was a great ambassador for agility, we miss seeing her in the ring.

Zoom

Zoom is handled by Tracey Harrison-Hill. A giant sheltie in the guise of a tri-colour border collie. Zoom has had some setbacks but absolutely loves playing agility with her Mum and is looking forward to a fun, fit and fabulous future.

Zumba

Zumba is handled by Ricki Smith. Zumba is a gentle giant and a great crowd pleaser. Sadly she was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 but is doing well after her chemotherapy. We hugely miss having her at agility with us and our thoughts are with her and Ricki.
